My thoughts have always been that Jesus was never much to look upon, that he was ordinary, and not very handsome. However, I found this, in an article by Dr. Orman L. Norwood, of International Board of Jewish Missions:

During the ministry of Jesus, the following description was sent by the President of Judea, Publius Lentulus, to the senate of Rome. This quote is from an ancient Roman manuscript:

“There lives a man of singular character whose name is Jesus Christ, in Judea. The barbarians esteem him as a prophet, but his own followers adore him as the immediate offspring of the immortal God. He is endowed with such unparalleled virtue as to call the dead from their graves, and to heal every kind of disease with a word or touch. This person is tall and elegantly shaped; his aspect is amiable and reverent; his hair flows into those beautiful shades which no united colour can match, falling into graceful curves below his ears, agreeable couching upon his shoulders, and every parting on his head like the head of a Nazarite.

His forehead is smooth and large. His cheeks without either spot, save that of a lovely red; his nose is smooth and formed with exquisite symmetry; his beard is thick and of a colour suitable to the hair of his head, reaching a little below the chin, and parted in the middle like a fork. He rebukes with majesty, commands with mildness and invites with the most tender and persuasive language; His whole address, in deed or word, being elegantly graceful and characteristic of so exalted a being.

No man has ever seen him laugh, but many have seen him weep, and so persuasive are his tears that the multitude cannot withhold theirs from joining in sympathy with his. He is very temperate, modest and wise, and in short, whatever this phenomenon may turn out in the end, he seems at present from his excellent bearing and divine perfection, in every way surpassing the children of men.”

He is "altogether lovely." (Song of Sol 5:16).

I'd venture to say that beauty is subjective... What you might find beautiful I might look at and thing "wow... paper bag time".

I know a man that is so full of the spirit that I love looking at his face (you can just SEE God in him). He's not physicall beautiful... but is lovely to look upon. Get what I'm saying?

What manuscript is that? And Pontius Pilatus was the governor of Judea during Jesus' ministry.

I believe probably average
Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not

Great Scripture. Indeed, Judas had to give the soldiers a sign (with a kiss) to show which one was Jesus.

i know one thing for shure that the devil will destroy your body, i just have to walk around in this city to get my living proof daily, i also know for a fact that since i am a christian not only has my self image bettered a lot, meaning i do like my body, but also get lots more attention of girls, obviously i have gained a lot of attractiveness.

physical beauty follows logical patterns, otherwise you would find also fat blistered grannys in the playboy and the like magazines.

if anyone will deny that probably he has an ego problem.

people are attracted to healthyness. god makes healthy.

the isaiah 53 scripture refers to jesus time of great suffering, probably he was beaten so hard that he didnt look like a human being anymore, like it is shown in the "passion of the christ".

You're da man!

I've also found that eating a balanced diet, get plenty of sleep and excercise, and driving a Porsche helps too. :D

Jesus looked pertty good to me the last time I saw him.

He had a nice flowing garment, long hair, beard, nice looks and no sandals.

I was staring right at his feet too and no holes in his feet.

His first words to me were, "They have baptised you with evil, but I will baptise you with love"

That was ten years ago on my last night at Brownsville Assembly of God after two weeks of revival.

Jesus is okay I don't care what the devil says about Him ... :swoon:
