Hi,
Has anyone heard of Rich Mullins? :) He's one of my favourite Christian artists.

Sorry if there's a thread about him already, but I couldn't find one.

Rich Mullins was an excellent song writer and composer. And his faith seemed genuine. He chose to be poor, like St. Francis, who was one of his heroes.

Just thought I'd make a thread about him :D

I love love love Rich Mullins.

one of my closest friends has always like loved Rich Mullins, and for graduation, she gave me a CD of his, "Songs" and I love almost every song on that ablum. He was an amazing person, I am sure, and I can't wait to see him one day. Then, I'll be able to sing on key, play any instrument in the world, and he and I will jam together for Christ.

The world lost such an amazing man too young.

My Favorite song by Rich Mullins is "Awesome God." Ever since he's been up there with the Lord in Heaven, I've wondered how often Rich Mullins has lead the angels and the saints up in Heaven with a praise offering of love and song to the Lord God singing "Awesome God" to HIM.

Funny thing is, I don't like Awesome God all that much. I feel that throughout his career, he wrote and sung many more songs that are so much better. Don't get me wrong, I like it, it's something different, but I feel that Awesome God is just a drop in the bucket of his talent.

"Awesome God" is one late 20th century song that deserves a place in the hymnals.

Yes, I consider Rich Mullins a great legend in Christian music.

Ditto. The music and lyrics of Rich Mullins were instrumental (no pun intended :) ) in my coming back to the Lord. I was lost, but now I'm found, and Rich Mullins was a catalyst to that fact.
It literally makes my heart smile whenever I hear a young person praise Rich Mullins.

He was a chain smoker. This doesn't justify smoking, but it shows that habits like that dont always prevent you from serving God
um...wow how off-topic is that?

Just wondering: If you were dead, would you want someone to continue to talk about your failures as a Christian, or your merits?

Rich Mullins was not a chain smoker, The reason I know this is because on his CD Here in America CD track number 10 he talks about giving a man a ride who chained smoked and it was so terrible he just wanted to kick him out of the car. He said they way he was feeling was one of his most un-Christian moments. Just wanted to let you know.

My favorite song by Rich Mullins is Hold me Jesus you can listen to it here if you want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gBGGX3yvMo&mode=related&search=

The first time I heard "My Deliverer", I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes. So powerful.

We picked up that CD and were SHOCKED to find out that he died only NINE DAYS after the making that CD.

His final hurrah to our LORD.
