You are most welcome Mickey, thank you for the neat sites as well. BTW, I think you have to make sure that you leave a little space between your text and URLs for them to be working links. When it doesn't turn color,it will not work.

http://euobserver.com/9/23718/?rk=1 from the article "The EU's plans for setting up a global satellite navigation system - known as a Galileo - will come under scrutiny on Thursday when the bloc's transport ministers meet in Brussels." Interesting!

Have to go check out the tiger temple now, thanks again! OOPS, that URL didn't work for me,said "no results found",for the Tiger Temple.

Glass-Bottom Deck 4,000 Feet Above Grand Canyon Floor Unveiled

Tuesday, March 20, 2007

HUALAPAI INDIAN RESERVATION, Ariz. — Indian leaders and former astronauts stepped gingerly beyond the Grand Canyon's rim Tuesday, staring through the glass floor and into the 4,000-foot chasm below during the opening ceremony for a new observation deck.
A few members of the Hualapai Indian Tribe, which allowed the Grand Canyon Skywalk to be built, hopped up and down on the horseshoe-shaped structure. At its edge — 70 feet beyond the rim — the group peeked over the glass wall.
"I can hear the glass cracking!" Hualapai Chairman Charlie Vaughn said playfully.
The deck is anchored deep into a limestone cliff. As people walk across it, the glass layers creak and the deck wobbles almost imperceptibly....

Oregon Biology Teacher Fired Over Bible References

Tuesday, March 20, 2007
service_ap_36.gif
SISTERS, Ore. — During his eight days as a part-time high school biology teacher, Kris Helphinstine included Biblical references in material he provided to students and gave a PowerPoint presentation that made links between evolution, Nazi Germany and Planned Parenthood.
That was enough for the Sisters School Board, which fired the teacher Monday night for deviating from the curriculum on the theory of evolution.
"I think his performance was not just a little bit over the line," board member Jeff Smith said. "It was a severe contradiction of what we trust teachers to do in our classrooms."
Helphinstine, 27, said in a phone interview with The Bulletin newspaper of Bend that he included the supplemental material to teach students about bias in sources, and his only agenda was to teach critical thinking........

Procter & Gamble Awarded $19.25 Million in Satanism Lawsuit

CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) has won a jury award of $19.25 million in a civil lawsuit filed against four former Amway distributors accused of spreading false rumors linking the company to Satanism to advance their own business.
The U.S. District Court jury in Salt Lake City on Friday found in favor of the Cincinnati-based consumer products company in a lawsuit filed by P&G in 1995. It was one of several the company brought over rumors alleging a link with the company's logo and Satanism.
Rumors had begun circulating as early as 1981 that the company's logo -- a bearded, crescent man-in-moon looking over a field of 13 stars -- was a symbol of Satanism.

21st century homesteading: Free land in Alaska

POSTED: 3:23 p.m. EDT, March 16, 2007

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Anderson, a little town in Alaska's interior, has no gas station, no grocery store and no traffic lights, but it does have plenty of woodsy land -- and it's free to anyone willing to put down roots in the often-frozen ground.
In a modern twist on the homesteading movement that populated the Plains in the 1800s, the community of 300 people is offering 26 large lots on spruce-covered land in a part of Alaska that has spectacular views of the Northern lights and Mount McKinley, North America's highest peak.
And what's an occasional day of 60-below cold in a town removed from big-city ills?
"It's Mayberry," said Anderson high-school teacher Daryl Frisbie, whose social studies class explored ways to boost the town's dwindling population. Students developed a Web site and Power Point presentation, then persuaded the City Council to give it a go.
"Are you tired of the hustle and bustle of the Lower 48, crime, poor schools, and the high cost of living?" the Web site asks. "Make your new home in the Last Frontier!"
The 1.3-acre lots will be awarded to the first people who apply for them and submit $500 refundable deposits beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. Each winning applicant must build a house measuring at least 1,000 square feet within two years. Power and phone hookups are now available.

There isn't.

Nobody is allowed to present their religious beliefs in the biology classroom as part of the curriculum. You only see Christians fired for doing so because they are the only people who seem to want to do that.
His answersingenesis.com sourced evolution->Nazis->abortion material was totally irrelevant to the study of biological science.

THE KILLER FROGS OF LILY POND

San Francisco poised to checkmate amphibious African predators of Golden Gate Park

Phillip Matier, Andrew Ross
Monday, March 12, 2007

sfgate_get_fprefs(); It's like something out of an animal horror movie -- killer frogs take over peaceful pond, then after terrorizing and eating everything alive, start eating each other.
Only it's no movie. It's really happening in Golden Gate Park's Lily Pond, near the California Academy of Sciences. And after watching the frogs chew through everything in sight over the past several years, the city finally wants to do something about it.
No one knows for sure when the African clawed frogs got into the pond or who put them there. But there they are, and the Toad Warriors have pretty much taken care of the native turtles, frogs and fish.
"They've eaten everything they can get their mouths around, and now they're eating each other," said Eric Mills of the animal rights group Action for Animals.........

The connection doesn't exist, and was simply fabricated by those who wished to discredit the theory. The teacher was wrong and will have to live with his decision to taint his credibility for a good long while. There is no agenda against Christianity. If you need to tell yourself that to feel alright, go ahead. But it doesn't exist.

Family held teen as 'slave,' police say

POSTED: 8:08 p.m. EDT, March 21, 2007

GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A couple and their three teenage children held a woman captive for six months, referring to her as their "slave" as they beat her, forced her to do chores and threatened her life and the lives of her relatives, police said Wednesday.
All five members of the family, ranging in age from 43 to 16, were arrested on charges of kidnapping and making terroristic threats. They had not entered pleas Wednesday but denied wrongdoing.
The accuser, Emily Nicely, 19, said she went to live with the family voluntarily but alleges she had been forced to stay with them since September, authorities said.
Police were called March 10 after a man whose newspaper was delivered by the family reported seeing bruises on the young woman.
"She had injuries on every part of her body," police Capt. George Seranko said. A hospital examination also revealed that she had a concussion.

Very sad,
Mickey

March 19, 2007 Mathematicians Team Up with Supercomputer to Crack 248-Dimensional Object Three days of number crunching yields whopping 60-gigabyte result By JR Minkel

A monstrous computer-based calculation has rekindled researchers' hopes of solving a longstanding problem in mathematics. In a style of collaboration more commonly associated with sequencing genomes, a team of 18 mathematicians and computer scientists has mapped an extremely complex object known as the E8 group. The calculation is only a stepping stone, but an important one, researchers say, in a larger project to uncover subtle ways in which different equations or geometric shapes can be seen as facets of the same underlying thing—an insight that has led to some of the century's biggest discoveries in particle physics and may play a role in future theories. The result also highlights the growing trend of using computers to crack tough math problems.
