Does anybody know what the sea represents, I ocassionally dream about the sea and last night I did again.
In this dream there were many tornadoes forming from the sea, it was like an apocylyptic event or something. They were getting in my way and were not supposed to be there. There were at least like 9 there. Then one of them turned into ice and shot ice shards everywhere.

OH! And the other weak I had an odd dream about the sea which was verry interesting.
I was in a car with my youth group and I looked out to the sea and I saw a Dolphin jump up like 100 feet into the air, I was amazed, it was like night-time and then I saw all animals being raptured out of the sea, like Huge giant whales being taken up and there was light everywhere.

So does anybody know what the sea represents in dreams?

The sea, as far as I know , represents life changes. If it's very turbulant, then look for other things that are happening to define the changes.
Calm sea, or rushing waters, all show change but it's the little details that define the change.
Water= new birth,

The 9 tornadoes one of ice could be people causing havoc in your life. You really have to look around to see the meaning. Not seeing an outcome could mean that the change is yet to come.

The bible teaches that the sea does not stop.

Jer 49:23 "Concerning Damascus: Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, for they have heard bad news. They are melted; anxiety is in the sea; it cannot be quiet. "

Note the mention of anxiety. Jesus taught not to have an anxious mind, so it is important to avoid the sea spiritually, if you can. You will never get any rest exploring the sea.

I would rejoice over the dolphin, if I were you. For the dolphin it appears that anxiety has ended (with him leaping from the sea). You should turn to the land with the same sort of excitement as the dolphin and not look back.

Skyedude those are some real interesting dreams there.

Many times the word is for the individual, but with God being infinite it could go many other directions as well.

If you look in Rev 17 you will see that there is a verse that speaks of water representing the nations of people. But I can't really say that one fits for you....

& Don't know if this helps, but some theologians throughout history have stated they believe animals will be raptured with the people of God. Jack VanImpe has put teaching together on that subject.

Keep praying man. I am curious rite along with you.

Ahh interesting, Yeah the tornadoes could be things or people that are causing me havoc or whatever, it was strange because the sea was very calm, even when the tornadoes formed on the sea, they weren't supposed to be there.
Thanks for your input =)

Yeah so true, God is infinate and can talk to us all in a personal way.
That dream was very strange because there were so many sea animals being taken up, some huge, and there was radiant light everywhere so it wasn't night anymore. It was such a serene peaceful feeling and sight.

Thanks for everyones comments.

Wow! That's really interesting, because on Sunday my two oldest granddaughters drew a picture of a fishing boat with 3 portholes, two sails, one fisherperson fishing and catching a large fish (to the front of the boat) and then at the rear of the boat on the right of the picture is this huge whale with tail upright and head down in the water and it looks as though it is ominous - the tail actually looked like a crown and all around it are beams or rays of some sort and the water looks rough like it is being stirred. I asked my granddaughters on Monday what that was in the water and the oldest one said she drew that part of the picture and that it was a whale, but then when I mentioned it to her again yesterday, she said it was a dolphin - weird, huh, since both of those are mentioned in your dream.

Anyway, they drew the picture on Sunday and on Tuesday I read where a fishing boat had been attacked by a whale and I wondered if they were drawing a vision they had from God, yet I knew it had to be bigger in message than just this little article about a fishing boat. I wonder if this 'fishing boat' is talking about the church and we are about to come under attack. I find the three portholes on a sail boat particularly interesting, too. It makes me think of the trinity. I do believe their picture is prophetic and your dream just confirms it for me.

It can represent many things... do a search in the Bible.

In these cases it sounds like it represents the sea of people.

I had Another Sea dream last night.
This time, I was very high up somewhere, looking over the sea with a huge view, I saw many waves, big ones too, But I was so high up it was obvious they wouldn't get to me.
Then the whole sea turned into ice, it was a strange sight.
