He's 2 yo and @50 lbs. He's been in the shelter for 4 months. The conditions are deplorable which is why we opted to go there. But things are off to a shaky start.

We have 2 dogs, Bailey is an 11 1/2 yo rottweiler...gentlest dog ever. She's larger than the new dog. Then we have Frida, 15 lb. 2 yo chihuahua/beagle. We also have a cat, Zoe, she's 6. So the new dog seems to adore humans, he's well behaved, submits and gives us his belly...he was neutered and apparently pretty early because he doesn't raise his leg. We introduced the dogs outside and they loved each other and chased balls and had a great time. We were out there for 3 hours because it's beautiful here right now. When we came indoors, everything changed and the new dog went at our big dog twice. He never broke the skin and he backed off when I raised my voice...but it has me freaked out a bit. I have some ideas in place and I want to be patient because he has lived such an awful life recently....but we can't keep him if he doesn't get used to our other dogs. And I would hate to add more disruption to his life.

"Anna" was the only survivor of a litter of German Shepherd mongrels someone found in a dry river bed. I had to train her to walk on a leash, the inevitable happened, and she's been our dog for four years now.

Two months ago, she got hit by a car, dislocating her leg. We agreed that if the vet wanted more than $100, we would have her put to sleep. He told me $250, I took one look at Anna, and I agreed.
