Well my churchmate who wanted to become an officer broke up with her boyfriend (my bestfriend at church) because she wanted to be on full time ministry and that her bf doesn't. They've been together for like 8 WHOLE years and 6 months and we're even childhood sweethearts. They've started out as mutual partners at the ages of 12 and started dating each other at around age 15 I think? at 23 the girl decided she wanted to go to Training College just last semester. They still didn't break up even when she was at Training College but just after the start of the second semester did she decide to break up with him coz it just won't work out. It's actually a sad story for my bestfriend really :( he doesn't even want to go to church anymore since "he lost the love of his life". All of us young people at church try to give advice on him to move on and continue his ministry! He's our yp treasurer and he needs a talk with our ypsm and our pastor about this matter.

Well I've heard about stories of officers actually giving up on everything including the love of their life who has no calling just to answer their calling of becoming an officer. I've also heard of former cadets and officers who gave up their call and marry the love of their lives. From my bestfriends situation as an example, I've come to know that answering their call in becoming an officer really is a decision.

So I'm just a little curious here, do any of you know of officers actually sacrificing their former love lives? And former cadets or officers who gave up their position so that they marry the love of their lives with no calling?

AND additional question as well... in your opinion, do you think relationships like that just won't work out in the end?
