It sounds like this thread is a joke, but I'm serious. History tells us that Felix was a crooked governor, taking many bribes. His government of Judea and Galilee was corrupt. However, when addressing Felix, a speaker was supposed to begin by flattering him.

When accusing Paul, Tertullus the orator called Felix "noble" and praised him for the good job he was doing as governor.

When it was his turn, Paul began by saying, "I realize you've been governor for a long time."

I ve heard some people use phrases like Holy Spirit convicted my heart....
For example i read a woman say the Holy Spirit convicted her to always wear dresses and not pants and i also read a man say as he got a more contrite heart that the Holy Spirit convicted his heart not to listen to anymore(nonspiritual) music.
This makes me feel despair and confusion.
The bible never says that Christians cant listen to music for example so when someone says theyve received a personal conviction that doesnt match up with what the bible says what do you make of that?
Does Holy Spirit give individual people personal/different convictions and even things that dont match up with the bible or could it be satan that has "convicted" their heart in deception?
Can satan convict hearts to decieve if im making any sense?

Mark 13:33
“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come."

That being said and accepted in all faith as true, I ask two questions:
1. What would be your emotional response if you knew Jesus Christ was to return for the faithful in 30 minutes?
2. What would you do with those thirty minutes?

Hello and thank you for reading.

Recently at work my boss has asked me to pick up a Sunday shift. I tried to politely refuse by citing that I have to go to church but he said that we all have to take turns working on Sunday. I pulled out my pocket bible and showed him the following
Exodus 35:2:
"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

His face got a ghostly pale color and he decided to let me off on Sunday after all. Still I was taught my whole life to follow the good book to the letter. Yet this verse clearly violates the ten commandments... what should be done?

Hey,

I'm finishing my degree from Bob Jones with a BA in Bible. I'm looking at trying to find an online seminary that is good. Liberty has some awesome looking online programs, that require no-residency, etc... however they're moving toward a conservative, Southern Baptist flair... (though they're supposed to be independent, Fundamental Baptist

I've talked around to some professors on campus and thus far it's been ill feelings towards Liberty. Would I be wrong in obtaining an M.Div. from them? If Biblical Separation as taught by Bob Jones is true, would I be in disobedience? I'm not so certain on the separation issue yet... not just with the possibility of Liberty, but of separation in general...
