Probably there is no other subject that generates more thread participation than this one. Many are convinced that since anal intercourse between males is prohibited in the Law of Moses, it must be so today because God sees it as an immoral act. There are other acts prohibited in the Law of Moses because they too are immoral. What some that are left out (sex between uncles and nieces) and (sex beween women) are supposedly 'caught in the net' of inclusion. Meaning that just because they are not mentioned....people should know that they were meant to be.

But were there homosexual males back then in ancient Israel? Did they pretend to be straight and just go along with the system never having satisfied their true urges? Surely those males with very strong female traits were recognized. What did the Israelite society do with them? Did they try to herd them to the outer fringes of their society? Did they try to overlook them so that they would not catch any in the act and have to stone them?

Of course, straight men would not be overpowered with this urge as the gay men would. I think this is significant. Since we know that some people are at least transgendered or have a lot of the opposite sex in them at a very early age (even back in ancient Israel), it would be totally illogical for God to have these prohibitions in the Law of Moses aimed at their sexual expression.

As some poster's have maitained, perhaps these condemned acts in the Law were aimed at curbing ADULTERY. Who we today would consider as just older boys, they were considered as men who should be married. Maybe those ancient married men really would not have looked at sex with another man as adultery. Many would not see it as adultery even today. Many would not see a married man or married woman having sex with an animal as committing 'adultery' against their spouse. Whereas God does.


Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators (men and women that visit the pagan temples to buy sexual satisfaction) nor Idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (special male temple prostitutes that dressed as women and serviced the 'visiting' men) nor abusers of themselves with mankind... (male-bedders) male prostitutes of the temple (1Cor.6:9) (1Tim.1:10)

As we know, some of these 'occupations' still exist today. However, neither (1Cor.6:9) nor (1Tim.1:10) address the gay and transgender issue we discuss today.


Some think they see the answer to the gay and transgendered in (Rom.1:18-32). What is always left out of this section of scripture is who the 'they' are that the Apostle Paul is addressing. The 'they' were all the people that made up the Roman orgies, and the other pagan temples. The Aphrodite temple prostitutes and those that went to them to worship according to the commands that this goddess was said, and in the manner, she wanted to be worshipped. The Aphrodite worship was performed according to the opposite of the sex of the worshipper. No one gets by with plucking, whatever it happens to be at the time, their favorite sin-fruit to eat. All the rest of the 'sin-fruit' will follow the first one. Sin is always a progessive down-hill journey into depravity. Hence all the many other sins said to follow the first sin...verse 29-32.

The Apostle Paul had to deal with these 2 kinds of temple prostitutes when they became members of the church. We read of this in 1Cor.11:1-15 In it he deals with the historically famous Corinthian prostitute. This female prostitute would wear her hair 'cropped' or 'shorn' . He addresses the special male prostitute that would dress as a woman and wear his hair very long (or wear a long wig) and identifies this prostitute as a (malakos) or effeminate. Both hair styles were a shame to the church because they advertised within the church the very evil the church was trying to overcome. The Apostle even declared that (nature) which translated from the Koine Greek meant society taught that for a man to sport very long hair signaled that he was a malakos, or, effeminate, that could be purchased at the pagan temples for male-male sex. (1Cor.11:14)


Biblical Marriage/Church Marriage always has and always will be [one man to one woman]. Secular marriage can, and sometimes will be, other kinds of unions of two consenting adults.
