Listening to CNN this morning (afternoon if you're past the Rocky Mountains, I can't believe how stupid Sarah Palin sounds. For a supposed "intelligant" woman, she sounds like a very uninformed, ignorant, hick.

What in the world was she thinking getting fitted for clothing from Neman-Marcus and other high end stores, then claim that "Oh, the clothes aren't mine. They're getting donated after I'm done wearing them and going back to my own clothes."

As part of our pulpit announcements, a letter from our Bishop was read regarding the upcoming elections. Encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote. And of course, one of the topics he encouraged us to consider in choosing our candidates is the issue of abortion.

Being Catholic, the issue has never been easy. From the moment I was given a book at age 10 by an anti-abortion group, in church no less, this has been an ongoing issue in my heart and in my head.

For the past week, it's been horrible here in Paradise.

The air quality is so bad you can't even see the mountain rage in the distnace. In fact, it is so bad Diamond Head, the states most notable landmark, wasn't even visable.

So, what is this you ask? It's vog.

Vog? What's vog?

It's what we call the volcanic haze that covers the island when the winds come from the south and blows the smoke from the volcano over the islands....

Someone once told me that people have a difficult time in changing, especially when there are too many changes that come at once. Perhaps that is true.

We are sedentary creatures. We like things to remain the same, and fight tooth and nail to make it stay the way things are.

Personally, I like change. Change makes life exciting. Change keeps the mind going. Change enables us to grow no matter how difficult that may be.

I don't think God intended...
