Dan sent me out shopping yesterday. I went alone and with a notebook in which to write notes about what I looked at. It was time to buy that new stove we've been needing since, well...forever. I looked at three different stores and diligently took notes on what I liked and disliked, jotting down model numbers, prices, and comments on the notepad I'd brought with me. While visiting Sears I was pretty sure that I'd found just the right unit for our kitchen. Just to make sure, and not to buy the...

Sometimes being nice isn't all it's cracked up to be

Posted 20th February 2009 at 12:37 AM by lucypevensie

She said, "My name is Mary", and then continued on with how she's from the corporation is just helping out for a few hours. She appeared to be quite busy and her facial expression betrayed nothing...

Dreaming of cobblestones and a sick old woman

Last night's dream:

I was at someone's house, I think the Hake's. The Hakes were fixing up the patio in back of the house. The patio was made of cobblestones. In order to fix the patio they'd spread some kind of stuff that looked and felt like concrete all over the stones, but it was not concrete. Someone was there showing me how to chip off the "concrete" to expose the stones underneath. It came off very easily and it kind of felt therapeutic to chip it away, sort...

25 Random Things About Myself

Posted 22nd January 2009 at 01:02 AM by lucypevensie
1. I am a slow reader. I used to be a faster reader, but I've discovered that I enjoy savoring the words more. This can be a good thing, but also a bad thing. I read fewer books because of this.

2. I do not like creativity thrust on me. By that I mean, I do not like it when I am given some kind of assignment that involves me having to be creative for someone, like make them something. I am mosst creative when I am genuinely inspired.

3. My 2 favorite restaurants...
