Is abstinence possible?

Sure it is. For those who understand why God created sex...what sex was meant to be...

The question seems to be asked in the most ironic of situations. In a sexually-charged society where the media basically sells this idea that if you're not having sex...you must be a nerd or someone inferior to the promiscuous...

The idea crossed my mind, although I'm sure it's been used many times...

It makes me upset when people, even Christians, assume that faith is blind. I really hate the line... "We just need to believe"...as if we believe without really knowing why.
But then I think back to my childhood...I realize how I was just spiritually blind.

I was thinking it over last night...and I don't blame my high school...or the way they presented the Gospel...
I don't know if I can blame myself or my lack of understanding...
For it is the Spirit...

Where the Holy Spirit works there is beauty.

These days I notice more how we settle for so little. Cheap imitations of what God offers us. They may bring physical pleasure, but what good is that if our spirit dies? From God I receive what makes me whole. What God intended is so perfect, I can't settle for what the world thinks it has to offer. But I still do many times...I'm still human. Stupid.

I appreciate that you're still a good friend, even though I don't come on here. It's nice to at least be able to laugh a little and to feel like I can be myself.

It's frustrating when one friend has betrayed you. Another is pushing you against the wall to do something you don't want to be doing.

I'm not one to embrace company when I'm struggling. I need space.
