Day to Day With Shane and Johanna (and the kitties)

I work at a daycare during the week, but on weekends (Fri.-Sun.), I work in a little supermarket in the neighborhood. As some of you know, I live in NYC, Brooklyn to be exact. So, earlier today, I was just at my job at the market and this woman, her boyfriend, and baby (the baby must've been 2 or 2 1/2 years old) came in. Now, I must tell you, the woman was very well dressed in designer clothes, and the boyfriend wasn't shabby at all, in fact, he had a bag with new sneakers from Sneaker Corner...

I had a strange dream. Now, I have to tell you that alot of my dreams are very vivid and very detailed, but this one was just strange. I dreamed that I was on a bus that transports people and the dead, but the dead have a special stop where the driver escorts them off the bus to their destination. Now, if you are living person, you have cannot get off till the last stop, but if you decide to get off earlier, then you join the dead. No one on the bus knows who the dead are till the bus stops...

Today, I read an article that stated that one third of women in the United States are single mothers before the age of 30. The article was comparing the statistics of the 1960's in which 90% of single mothers were married to today where the married percentage of moms is considerably less.

My friend Johanna (we have the same name) gave birth this morning. She has a little boy who is beautiful and healthy. It was the first news that I heard this morning. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for years, but because I'm very anemic, we've had many miscarriages. It made us sad, but we decided on adoption to grow our family.

I took a nap this afternoon. I was so tired today for some reason and I couldn't keep my eyes open. I had a dream. My maternal grandmother has gone back to her Lord in 2001 and the news of her death was terrible to me. I was very close to her as a child till we moved away, but even then, I was still close to her spiritually if not physically.
