Good People Bad Things

Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People

Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

This seems to be a question that gets ask a lot. I ve heard it in person and on the web. I think the right question to ask is why do good things happen to us. We are all sinners against God. No one is good, not one. Gods standards are higher than our justice system. Just hating someone is like murder. Lusting upon another women is considered adultery. A sinful thought makes you a sinner and I am sure we all have done more then that. In fact I am sure we all have sinful thoughts daily.

Even if Adam and Eve did not eat from the tree, someone would have. The devil convinced 1/3 of the angles to sin against God. So why did God even create us if he knew we would be sinners? Well God is love. He wants the fellowship.

The thing is God created a perfect world. So to be perfect you have to have freedom. Forced love is not love. God gave us free will to love him or not. Do you love God? So we all sin and deserve death, Hell, and the grave. So why do bad things happen in this world and to good people? Well its from the curse.

Now why do bad things happen to his children, those that serve God daily, and faithfully? Sometimes God will allow things to happen to test us. Look at the book of Job. I could write this whole thing about Job. If I started putting scripture on this page from the book of Job the whole page would be filled, so study the book by itself. I want to list other scripture, but remember when Satan attacked Job he fell on his knees and worshiped God. If Satan ask God to attack you how will you react? God also tested Abraham. Abraham was faithful, and had faith in Godís promise he would raise nations up from him.

Genesis 22:1-2 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

God also tested Israel.
Exodus 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Duet 8:2. And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Jesus test Philip
Jn 6:5-6 . When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

Count it as Joy
James 1:2-3 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

See God won't temp us with evil. He will allow the devil to temp and test us with evil, see Job.
James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

But one thing you can count on.
1 Corintians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bearit.

We lust after worldy things and it causes us to sin. He will test our faithfulness. He may allow Satan to attack. I just hope you let it make you stronger and act like Job. Falling down and worshiping the Lord

James 1:14-15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Our sin could also be the reason. Our God is a righteous Judge, and will chasten his Children. Something you put in front of God he might just take it from you.

Heb 12:7-8 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Just get it right, cause he might just call you home.

A lot of times we get in trouble because we donít listen to God. We donít read the Bible to know what we should do. When your father tells you not to do something it is usually for a good reason. If a father whips his 2 year old son for running out in the street, it is a good thing. The son might not understand why he cant run out in the street, but hopefully it will teach him not to do it. If Gods word tells you not to do something and you do it, something bad may hapen

So when lifeís disasters strike, how will you handle it?

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

If you loose a job, house, a loved one, or get cancer or something similar use it to Godís glory. Find others in that situation and tell them of Gods love. Tell them how there is a place called Heaven where there will be no more pain. If your lost God donít want to force you to love him. He did send his son down to die on the cross for your sins to show you his love for you.

Roman 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
