You can think of it as a charity (lets say paying for a prayer group, or funding abortions) using extortion to fund itself. Now lets assume you don't really want to fund such a charity, but they will send some thugs to your house to threaten you into paying if you are late, to the point of kidnapping you if the threats don't work. Wouldn't this charity be essentially enslaving you being they are preventing you from using that money (because they took it) for what you see to be more important (such as helping out a friend that could use it).

Is that a good way of doing business in your opinion? You wouldn't have to worry about loosing too many customers, I would think.

If we agree that is a "good" way of doing business, why aren't more business' doing it?
