What is Theology

Theology is the study of the systematized knowledge of God in His various relations to His creation. Theology is the fruit of the reflection of the church on the truth revealed in the Word of God. From the Greek, "the science or study of God".

Theology can be divided according to the following lines:

1) Theology proper (doctrine of God, the Trinity -my specialty)
2) Revelation (general and special)
3) Creation, Providence
4) Anthropology...

Christian Ethics

I was recently asked about whether or not someone should disconnect a loved one from life support. My response follows.

For these sort of decisions I highly recomment a Christian based text, such as Scott Rae's Moral Choices.

Secular ethics courses usually focus upon teleological aspects of ethics, which are basically utilitarian (greatest good for the greatest number). Such a system is fraught with problems, e.g.,:

One Month Anniversary at CF

I joined CF on June 18, 2009. One month later, and I am still getting the lay of the land. I have discovered a few old friends and, thankfully, only one or two old enemies from my other internet discussion forum haunts.

There are so many here in need of sound Biblical teaching, and even more who seek advice and counsel, which to me means Biblically based advice and counsel. In fact, unlike other forums I frequent, I find myself spending more time here offering advice than I do...
