The Fall of Man was the beginning of everything horrible in human history. It was the beginning of famine, death, strife, murder, and all other things you can think of that plague mankind. The fall of man occurred when a serpent was able to convince Eve that God simply did not want them to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil because then they would like God, knowing good and evil. So, she ate the fruit and gave some of it to her husband, who was with her. At this moment, their eyes were opened and they knew that they were naked. When they heard God, they hid themselves, ashamed of their nakedness. Once God learned of what had happened he cursed the serpent, the man, and the woman, and threw them out of the garden.

The flood was one of the greatest world-changing event in that it almost destroyed all life on earth. In fact, there was only a handful of humans (around 7 to 8) and about 2 of every animal. Of the clean animals, however, God made Noah bring 7 of each kind. When Noah was done with the ark, God had him board the ship with his family and the animals and then God closed the door to the ship and started the rain. It rained for forty days and nights. At the send of the rain, Noah sent out birds to check for dry land, there was no success until the third time, when a dove return with an olive leaf. Then the fourth time, the dove did not return, and Noah knew the water had left.  |
