"I know why you're here. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you are alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer. You're looking for Him.
I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when He found me, He told me I wasn't really looking for Him. I was looking for an answer.
It's the question that drives us. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did." Trinity

If CF were Heaven, I'd hold out for Hell!

I find that spending time at CF can be very depressing. I thought I would find Christian fellowship here, but instead I mostly encounter "Babel" (conflicted, confused speech).
Perhaps the medium is mostly to blame, I don't know, but that is my general observation. I first saw this website a couple of years ago. It boasted that it was the largest congregation of Christians online and had hundreds of thousands of members.
Backbiting and infighting drove many people away as did the trolls, but mostly, it was other "Christians." Much of what I read seemed to be variations of the Stoic-Epicurean debates the Apostle Paul encountered in Acts 17.
Stoics adhere to what they believe to be the will of the 'gods,' unmoved by circumstance or the suffering of others, while Epicureans believe that seeking pleasure in moderation and the avoidance of pain are the keys to a satisfying life.

Epicureanism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Religion and neurosis seem to me to be interchangeable terms; both involve an unhealthy preoccupation with "self" and both erect barriers that separate people from Christ.
Most of the Stoics and Epicureans were too self assured & preoccupied with their arguments to be interested in fellowship with the creator of the universe, with the "Who is this babbler?" remark being their standard greeting--yours?
I pop in to minister to those I perceive to hunger for fellowship with Christ, but have little to do with the CF "Christian" scene anymore. If heaven was like CF, I'd hold out for hell.

| | You certainly would not want to go to hell- hell is real, and i think that is a terrible thing to say. In Heaven Christians will be perfect. We are not perfect yet - none of us. God does want us to be good witnesses , but we still all sin each day on this earth. The Lord is using this site for His glory. God used someone's testimony on here in my conversion. God has forgiven us, through Jesus our Saviour , alone. Jesus, full- atonement , on The Cross for us has paid for the sins of all His people completely , forever. |
