Evangelicalism, in its purest form, holds two core beliefs:

1. The Bible is the Word of God.
2. One must be born of the Holy Spirit to become part of Christ's church.

From a theological standpoint, this was a rather amateurish Biblical commentary from Pat Robertson. Anyone who has studied the book of Job understands that calamity does not necessarily come about because of one's actions.

Robertson, as he has many times before, assumed the role of "Job's comforter" (9/11, Hurricane Katrina, et al.).

This man is a teacher to millions of Fundies. One can see firsthand how Fundamentalism instills a stoic type of loveless faith...
