If you know, or even think you know that if you were to bare your soul, to completely and totally become vulnerable to another person, even if that person is a close relative, and that person would crush you, not be supportive, and bascially slam the door on you, don't even. Don't risk your heart that way. I did tonight and needless to say, all the apologies in the world won't fix this. If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter
installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have
laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own
and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take
Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

Promotional stunt in non-existent town kills three people

On this day in 1896, the celebrated "Crash at Crush" occurred 15 miles
north of Waco in McLennan County. As a publicity stunt for the Katy
Railroad, two railroad engines were deliberately crashed head-on at
the non-existent "town" of Crush. Elaborate preparations and extensive
publicity brought a crowd of more than 40,000 to witness the event.

Mexican-American civil-rights conference meets in Laredo

On this day in 1911, the Congreso Mexicanista, the first
statewide Mexican-American civil-rights conference, began meeting
in Laredo. The Idar family, who owned and published La Crónica,
organized the meeting. The Idars invited the Orden Caballeros de
Honor, members of lodges and sociedades mutualistas, all Mexican
consuls in the state, Texas-Mexican journalists, and women from the

East Dallas incorporated

On this day in 1882, East Dallas was incorporated. In 1872 William
H. Gaston had begun promoting settlement in the area and had persuaded
the railroads to go through East Dallas. In the 1870s East Dallas
became a popular recreation destination on the streetcar lines that
ran from Dallas to the state fairs and the horse-racing track. East
