Like those before who’ve walked as fools
Who’ve cheated stole and lied
I played the clown I broke the rules
And sought a place to hide

Far and above my clouded skies
With heart and soul aflame
I saw through blurred and tearful eyes
Beyond the realm of shame

I saw The Cross of Jesus Christ
The anguish and the pain
I saw the life God sacrificed
That mine be not in vain

I saw the love and felt distraught
I saw The Light and knew
My heart had seen the true report
My soul had drank like dew

My sinful mind began to see
My inner man could hear
Innocent blood had set me free
Of all I’d had to fear

Full gratitude embraced with peace
Sweet joy before unknown
The Truth foretold I’ll never cease
To sing before God’s throne

For Jesus’ Dove has flown within
Bringing a brand new name
Consuming the stench of wanton sin
Cleansing my life of shame

By grace I’m free and born anew
Grafted within The Vine
I’m part of Heaven’s chosen few
And all God’s love is mine
