THE ROAD SWEEPER {Mk.4:4}

I came upon a jewel one day
No better man has found
This treasure someone threw away
Or lost it on the ground

I sweep the roads that’s what I do
In sun and rain I’m out
I clean the streets to look as new
I rid what’s thrown about

This day I swept without a care
As pleased as one could be
Twas then I saw it lying there
Quite plain for all to see

I’m truly pleased it failed to rain
...

In Jail Again

Many have heard Salvation’s cry
Not few in time will say
I’m born again I’ll never die
Yet then they fall away

When was it last you deeply cried?
You felt your heart would bleed
When did you pray God turn the tide?
For someone else in need

When did you feel secure and strong?
Yet somehow still you’d fail
What could it be that was is wrong?
For which you’re now in jail

Why are so many sinking ships?...

Complacence Is A Stench

Our world is suffering great defeat
Her death though slow is sure
Yet if she’d sit at Jesus’ feet
She’d find her perfect cure

In Christ her children would be strong
They’d seek their Saviour’s face
Instead she sings the devil’s song
And steals away from grace

Perhaps she’ll come if Christ is heard
Through such as you and I
When in her heart we plant God’s word
Her children wouldn’t die

Body Parts

The body needs it’s legs to walk
Needs hands with which to feel
Without a mouth it couldn’t talk
Nor ever eat a meal

The church of Christ is much the same
Her parts are needed too 1Co.12:12
When void of limbs she too is lame
The same as me and you Eph. 5:30

Apostles are the church’s feet
They wander to and fro
While catching fish and planting wheat
They’ll...

It’s Not By Might

Where Jesus’ Spirit’s free to flow
Strongholds crumble and fall
In such a church God’s flock will grow
And make their tent too small

God’s flock within will never stray
As darkness can’t abide
Where Jesus’ Spirit has His way
He knows no sin can hide

For every sin will come to light
The shame we don’t confess
We must obey, do what is right
For God won’t stand for less

But first each child must understand...
