My God my God don’t let me fail
Nor grieve my precious Lord
Please don’t allow life’s boat to sail
With me not safe on board

But help me combat sin

If only Heaven man could test

Does God stand true to all He’s said?
Does favouritism reign?
How come some find no rest when dead?
While some get born again

Why should the past condemn one’s soul?
Should Heaven even care?
Why should we burn as human coal?
Can God be so unfair?

When deepest wells have dried
Seek out the flow of long lost dreams
The spring of love’s tears cried

Follow The Light tracking its course
Here and far off lands
Finding in truth life’s fountain source
In Jesus’ mighty hands

Countless before have tried and lost
Many will err and stray
Many have land and sea both crossed
To fall along The Way

Come stand beneath The Saviour’s cross
As followers before
Believing they would suffer loss
As blood came pouring fore

They saw His face His hands and feet
Into His heart The hole
Till gruesome sorrow was complete
With no one to console

Through doubtful tears clouded eyes
Their hearts wrenched taut with pain
But then imagine their surprise
When Jesus rose again

Alone we travel life’s long road
Regardless where we’re bound
Alone we bear our heavy load
Till sleeping underground

But is the ground our final rest
Is death the last goodbye?
Could life not be The Father’s test?
Concluded when we die

Yet in a way these thoughts are true
The reasons people give
But God’s so much in love with you
He wants His children live
