The world revolves in doom and gloom
Full malice hate and spite
What’s happened to the upper room?
Christ’s church of hope and light

Still countless walk the devil’s road
As many have before
Only a few give up their load
For keys to Heaven’s door

Misery’s flowing everywhere
Debauchery wears a crown
Still ignorant through Christ a prayer
Will tear such strongholds down

When love’s one’s great desire
Though wholly lost though bound and blind
The Lord will share His Fire

Burning with love glowing with care
More radiant than the sun
Dawning upon a sinner’s prayer
For victory to be won

For those in darkness seeking Light
For children lost and cold
Forgiveness comes with robes of white
With crowns of purest gold

May seek The Lord on high
Only to learn for souls to thrive
Our need has first to die

Egos must fail arrogance fall
Tears perhaps may flow
But shrivelling self waxing small
Must find no place to go
