~The Battle~

Lord, I am on my knees today
Hold me close, don't let me stray
For there's a battle going deep within
Though I am worn, I'm in it for the win

Stop touching me, just go away
I push You still and still You stay
I can't get loose, Your grip's too tight
You offer love and still I fight

Lord, I am now face down, You see
Please pick up, come and rescue me
There's a war raging, it's tearing me apart
Still I reach, offering up my heart

Just go away, I can't take this
I reach for You, it's a hit and miss
My heart is torn, my body's worn
I can't go on, I can't go on

Cut me now, let me bleed
Sweet release is what I need
My heart it aches from deep within
When will it all end?
