Spoiler for Blog Information:
Le Parkour

Moriah's son D. has totally gotten daimonizomai into this. Goal for 2009: to become a passable traceuse. This stuff just rocks.

Started getting intrigued by it while playing Assassin's Creed on the X-Box 360. Then D. came home on leave from the Army for winter holiday break and brought some movies featuring thes skills, such as District B13 and The Great Challenge. The former being the better movie, story-wise. The latter doesn't have all that deep a plot but le parkour stuntwork bes amazing. We stayed up till 4:30 a.m. last night watching these and daimonizomai became "totally pumped" and inspired by it.
D. has been into this actually, physically doing it, for some time now, but of late the "bug" has bitten Moriah. It has been wanting to find something physical and grounding for some time to focus upon, but simple weight loss and attendant exercise with no other goals beyond vanity just don't cut it for motivation. (Being healthier physically even doesn't motivate because it has a hardy constitution by nature and rarely becomes sick or tired in spite of copious abuse of its physical vehicle with sleep deprivation, erratic dietary habits, alcohol consumption and other things.) In other words, Moriah needs something more meaningful to keep it motivated because it bes not athletically inclined by nature so must force itself to do such things rather than it coming naturally. Training and conditioning to become adept at these skills would definitely fit that bill, and plenty of media exists to keep the inspiration alive, too.
So it decrees: come January 2009, the basement shall become a miniature private dojo, so to speak. And you will likely see less of Moriah on the internet, as it will be busy engaging its next major shapeshifting and self-transformational operation.
And if you don't see less of it, point it to this blog entry and give it a kick up the bum, 'k?
