It occurs to me the more i write that i'm in need of a new language, a new mode of expression. So much of what i've sought to convey has had that inherent mixed message dilemma, that kind of "please read between the lines and realize that while i'm speaking the uttermost despair of the depths of my feeling soul in as literal terms as possible, deep down inside a part of me is screaming for you to see me, to hear me underneath this stone door i'm slamming shut in your face, and to care enough...
Something must have happened to you recently for you to be so filled with despair. What was that?
When Moriah tries to sleep even in its dreams it bes trapped with no way out, trying desperately to get away from the people coming after it who won't let it go. Even in its sleep it cannot find safe place. IN its dreams they chase it from room to room, them humans, invasive and will not let it go. Trying to force their way inside. Trying to override its settings, trying to control and manipulate....
The Son, as Divine, is utterly incapable of being slain since Death is separation from Life and if that is the case then where does He, Who alone is Life Himself, go to die (Jn.14:6)?!
Only as an incarnate creature is the Son capable of experiencing death (Acts.20:28(b)) but since, only as an incarnate creature can the Son experience death, then it cannot be true that the Son is 'eternally slain' (a metaphysical contradiction in terms).
These notions do err, not knowing the scriptures,...
I always love to read what you write, ST. It shows the value of natural wisdom submitted to the wisdom from above, and the beautiful result of such a merger.
I totally agree with you that gnosticism, when meaning spiritual knowledge gained through the receiving of personal revelation, can and does result often in deception, when not submitted to the written Word - the revelation to the prophets and apostles (foundation of the gospel).
If, however, that is not true and people's final destination will be determined by what they believe, then orthodoxy becomes vitally important and gnosticism, while still important, can become a gateway to disaster if not carefully guarded.
Please show us one crusade, one pogrom, one Inquisition, one witchhunt, one murder by oubliette, rack, sword, stake or catherine wheel -- in fact, one atrocity, period, of ANY sort -- which has ever been perpetrated on another...
