I finally have stepped into the fray of bloggers... I picture Germans in lederhosen dancing up a storm... but that is just how my mind works.

After being raised very conservative (I remember being threatened with being thrown out of the house for suggesting that Barry Goldwater was too conservative)

Central Illinois, Methodist, Republican, suburbia, country club (the only one that allowed Jews, blacks and other minorities), folks married once, four kids, 2 cats, a dog, a fish tank with guppies and snails and I played baseball, swam and coached swimming, track and cross country, did cub scouts and went to camp in the summer...

So how did I turn into a Marxist, liberal Christian, social critic? Hmmmm... over the next year or so, I want to explore this interesting transformation.

The selection from The Bible for the lesson this morning comes from The Gospel According to John…John 20:21:
"Again Jesus said, 'Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.' And with that he breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.'"

And Luke writes in Acts 1:1-5

Statement of Faith

I am currently responding to a poster who used Mel Gibson's Passion of The Christ film as a reference to support some point...
