This can be useful, but we should also be wary of doubting the power of God's grace to save us fully. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." It is good and healthy to examine oneself and ones relationship with the LORD, but we must be careful not to fall into the immobilizing trap of self doubt. Go before God in prayer and ask him to help you evaluate yourself, but don't be consumed by fears that somehow, despite your belief and acceptance you have fallen through a loophole and are headed for hell. I know from experience, because i struggled with this over roughly a three year period. Thanks be to God that he has helped me stand in faith on what Christ did at Calvary.
