Martin Page-In The House of Stone and Light
O Mount Kailas
Uncover me
Come my restoration
Wash my body clean
I've been walking
Along a crooked path
Where the walls have fallen
And broken me in half
I'm telling you
I will not rest till I lay down my head
I'm gonna go
In the house of stone and light
I shall not cry for the blindman I leave behind
When I go
In the house of stone and light
In the house of stone and light
Holy lady
Show me my soul
Tell me of the place
Where I must surely go
Old man waiting
At the gates for me
Give me the wisdom
Give me the key
Chorus:
I'm telling you
I will not rest till I lay down my head
In the house of stone and light
I make my way O gonna be such a beautiful day
In the house of stone and light
In the house of stone and light
Let me in beneath my skin
In the house of stone and light
It's been too long
My spirit's been at war
Havasupai Shaman
Let me be reborn
Chorus:
And I will the sun upon my face
Come the day I awake the child inside
In the house of stone and light
And when I go I will op - open my eyes
In the house of stone and light
I will see you
In the house of stone and light
I'm looking in beneath my skin

I don't know whether or not to feel sad, happy, joyous or all of the above.
Last Friday was the Memorial. I saw all my cousins and some of my neighbors along with Dad's 2 brothers and sister (Aunt Dixie). There were so many cousins it was something else.
A lotta people stood up to talk. I finally talked and choked. Basically everything I wanted to say was SAID and I was rendered speechless, but was clapped down for anyway...
Later on, everyone got together and talked after Uncle Leo sung his song he wrote about the Virgin (He's strictly Catholic XD)
I met at least up to 10 cousins or so.
The cousins included Carol, a cousin who had pretty curly and wavy black hair-she told me ab out how she was (and still is) an AKA (Alpha Kappa Alpha) and how she was practically in love with her fellow cousin, my uncle, Norbert. I thought that particular story was sweet.

(I can see why, too. My uncle is sweet...LOL
XD)
And then Carol's younger sister Tootie...both sisters were the late Marion's daughters. Marion, another cousin, I believe, sister to Margaret Burroughs, the famous artist/poet/whatever, etc. etc...
Cousin Alec (sp?), who has invited us to picnic before in the past,
Cousin Lynette, Ursula, Eunice and Jackie...
Cousin Ricky, Jackie's son (or one of them, Jeff, another one, whom I met later at the house)
Margaret, Lynette's daughter
Cousin Ted and Bernard and his moms Joy...
Cousin Cornelia (sp?) and her crew from Dolton or South Holland (Mom's side, and the only ones who were able to come...I see that there was a family reunion for one of mom's sisters and her people that same day...)
Cousin Gary, and of course Mom and my friends and my bro's friend, Dave...
The day after, another man named Dave, a vet, from the Veterans Funeral Service brought Dad's ashes to the house. It seemed surreal...
The box was heavy and was covered by a velvety royal purple plush bag with the service's inscription sewn on the bag.
Mom put the box in the closet for safe keeping after she and I rubbed it and spoke to his ashes.
A very tired me, went to bed (after speaking with one of Mom's good friends on the block) crying myself to sleep with a mix of emotions about Dad, about other things that bother my self-esteem, and life....
