Be-ing

Posted 6th March 2015 at 10:08 PM by lisah
"To be, or not to be: that is the question:"

If that is the question because you're bewildered
If you find yourself between and betwixt

Becalm your condition for it is not to bewailed
Bedazzle completely so as to not to befog
Beget thoughts immaculate, mire not to bedraggle
Believe heart and soul that no ill shall befall
Behold truth and of falsehoods do beware
Besiege the moment, but do not betray
Bestow...

Illumination

Posted 6th March 2015 at 10:05 PM by lisah
When all is light, it is hidden from our sight
Like stars washed out by the sun’s rays
Their splendor only revealed at night
Peripheral night vision…sight held at bay

Avert searching eyes, from the place of location
Sought by the mind, while scanning the seasons
At long last to witness the juxtaposition
Held in the mind…a moment of wisdom

Then slipping away, as though refusing containment
Fading, falling, fumbling, struggling...

Fever

Posted 6th March 2015 at 10:02 PM by lisah
I touch her forehead
Hot from the fire within
Burns like a bonfire
Set sail with the wind

Sleeping angel at battle
with cheeks that burn red
A blanketed fragility
Spread upon too large a bed

Fluttering eyes barely open
To the sense of a cool hand
Offering up a weak smile
I wonder, when will she land

As she drifts off once again

Ice Woman

Posted 6th March 2015 at 09:59 PM by lisah
a hard fluidity
dependent upon the wind
that may blow
across the scape

'tis the same,
says she

sometimes it does not flow
much like my poetry
but, 'tis the same,
says she

placed in your palm
you will see

words rain apologetically

Poverty

Posted 6th March 2015 at 09:45 PM by lisah
Her face tight and drawn
Purse opened like a yawn
With nothing left to pawn

Across this weighted divide
What will thus provide?
A pain not to subside?

Not able to do the math
Muddy waters are my bath
Justified within his wrath

My dues are shades of gray?
Never to see the light of day?
Oh, so heavily they do weigh.
