Those who have never heard

Posted 9th February 2013 at 12:06 PM by theophilus40
Romans 10:13,14 says,
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of who they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
Jesus’ final words to his disciples included a command to preach the gospel to the whole world and the promise that the Holy Spirit would give them the power they needed to carry out this command.
Go therefore and make disciples

Another Praise

Posted 9th February 2013 at 11:37 AM by jessicamoore
Every Saturday like clock work my son calls me. He is in his 30s. Today, I told him about what happened to me yesterday at the eye doctor.

I told him that I thought it was a miracle.

"Mom", he said, "You don't know the half of it. I just talked to Dad." (my ex) "And he had his eyes checked two days ago and they too were better."

I just don't think that is a coincidence. I was married to that man...

Cause and effect

Posted 9th February 2013 at 11:10 AM by theophilus40
But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Mark 13:13 ESV

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:1-2 ESV

For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
Hebrews 3:14 ESV

There is a lot of disagreement...

A controversial comma

Posted 9th February 2013 at 09:42 AM by theophilus40
One of the criminals who was being crucified with Jesus repented of his sin and asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus made this promise to him:
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:43 ESV

He was telling him that the two of them would be together in Paradise that same day. Or was he?

Some people think the comma before “today” should be placed after it instead. Then Jesus would have said:
Truly, I say to you today, you will

A call to Arms...and Knees
9 February 2013
How do I begin this? First let me state unequivicably fhis will be a spiritual post so if that might offend you then read somewhere else. In ongoing discussions on Christian Forum I contine to see a very typical reaction to my being a transexual and on a grander stage anyone involved with the LGBT community. I have set here at the computer fighting back the desire to lash out in retaliation to our attackers. It grieves me at the same people...
