When we still lived on the Sunshine Coast and attended church with a man who had no feet...
I use to wonder why it seemed so important for us to get to know him and to make him feel accepted and appreciated... well now I know why.

I use to wonder why it was so important that I learned to be a nursing assistant and learned to do physical therapy exercises... well now I know why.

I use to wonder why God spent so much time "working" on me and making me ...

My husband was looking at himself in the full length mirror(he hasn't been able
to do that until he came home)and became sad...
"I'm a gimp" he said sadly, dropping his head.
"I don't like seeing myself in the mirror" he mutters he thought I
didn't hear that comment but I did... I decided to let him vent... he's entitled.

He needs time to adjust to being home, time to accept his loss of his
lower leg and the loss of "his"...

I sat by my husband's bed watching him sleep - it's
Saturday afternoon, November 7...

I know the reality of his situation... the leg... has been removed
from below the knee... he will undergo a skin-draft on Wednesday... there
just wasn't enough skin to close up the "stump". The doctor will take some skin
from his thigh and finish covering the exposed muscle.

I'm watching his right foot, even in his semi-conscious state I see it searching...
