Why does it seem that those who have forsaken the Church will build faith and believe in “government” while those that have forsaken the State (perhaps due to fascist rule) will use religion as a means for prosecution?

(I put this on a thread opener - I had views but not comments ~sigh~) And so now I blog this thread of mine.

Shalom, growing up as a christian - these words were sung. "What can wash away my sins. Nothing but the blood of Jesus."

Now that I older and more wise with what the Bible teaches. I no longer believe this. Can someone explain to me why this belief is still held as truth?
