Reader Antonius

I am an Instituted Lector of the Roman Catholic Church and a layman thereof with strong ties to the Byzantine Catholic Churches, in some cases serving as Greek ordained Reader. My duties in the Church of God are to skillfully read & chant the Scriptures in the Sacred Liturgy, to assiduously study the Bible, and to instruct those preparing to receive the Holy Sacraments. Moreover, my office carries on the ancient charismatic teachers, prophets, and didaskaloi – although most of these have since become rare.

I have many names, but I go by "Antonius" most of the time. I proudly hail from hearty Hispano-Roman, Celtiberian, & Gaelo-Pictish stock. I am an autodidact with a love for various things. My interests include liturgy, reading fiction & nonfiction, writing, poetry, teaching, zoology, science, Biblical studies, Patristics, Eastern Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Zen Buddhism, Sinology, Celtology, Greco-Roman myth & culture, Japanology, East Asian studies, religious studies in general, theological research, historical research, ancient & medieval philosophy, and the mystical traditions of prayer & meditation.

I was known here on CF for many, many years also as "Knightwolflord." I am also a former Dominican friar and seminarian.

I am on a grand search for my place in this world and to find union with the unfathomable will of the Thrice-Holy One. My greatest desire is to become holy, wise, and prayerful – to be a saint, a sage, and a mystic.
