Are there or could there be any repercussions if Trump doesn't show up to Barron's graduation if the court specifically took the day off to honor that request? The Judge granted it, but if he finds out he campaigned and was physically at the speech location at the same time as the graduation what happens? Just a bad look for the jury? Contempt of court? I had to google who that was. I was thinking Joy Behar.

To be clear, this isn’t a partisan thing. I reject just as quickly people on the left who say dumb stuff like what Levin wrote.

There is at least one intermediate step before "real jail". Every courthouse has a lockup where defendants are held including as punishment for contempt. That courthouse also likely has windowless interior rooms that could do duty as a lockup The judge could sentence him to spend the lunch break in an empty room by himself with no devices or other materials.

IMO, sending him to a detention room as you describe for 4 hours would be an effective next step. For sure, he'll need several notebooks of right wing media praising his sacrifice to recover...
