I saw the posts about being kissing virgins.

My first kiss was with an ex friend from high school. I did it out of desperation. I don't know how we got on the subject, but he agreed to do it in exchange for other things. I mostly didn't hold up my end of the deal.

I know that was bad for me to do, but like I said, I was desperate. Guys didn't like me and I was motivated to do physical things.

That was before I was saved.

I remember some guy who was here for a brief while a year or two ago always complaining about how girls will never want a kissless virgin. He acted like it was utterly hopeless for him just on account of that.

I wanted to say, so what? Apart from one day when I was 11 and was cheered on to kiss a girl named Amy on the cheek by everyone around us, I'm a kissless virgin too, and I will be 40 next month.

Far as I am concerned, nothing any more wrong with that than someone's long having not been a virgin by that age. It's the heart of a person in either case that matters. Even Scripture hints greatly at this.

For all I know? A lady might find my being a "kissless virgin" at my age endearing or even cute, someday.

I really don't think being inexperienced in love is as much of a shallow turn-off as a few angry incels might insist.

Obciously I am in the same boat as you. I've long joked that if that ever changes, I'm gonna come back here and post a certain Katy Perry song in this thread. :ebil:

Being a virgin doesn't carry the stigma that it used to. In the late 90s early 00s you were tarred and feathered for it (hence a certain pointless movie about a 40 year old). Nowadays, I feel most people would just shrug and say "fair enough" - especially in this day and age where personal experiences, life goals, and having a good time, take priority over romance for a lot of people.

If you are a "kissless" virgin, then (on its own) you're really not missing out on much - however the other components to a great romance that tie it all together are definitely going to shape you, define you, and help you grow - and is something that is certainly worth seeking out soon.

You're actually at an advantage in many ways, because you're going to be at a mature age, but with the excitement and passion of an 18 year old. Many people by 40 have been in and out of several relationships, and fall into a routine of going through the motions less than a year in. No one wants that.

When you want someone, and they want you, instinct takes over. It's as straightforward as breathing.

Sometimes I wish I could have stayed friends with my real life friend from years ago, but I suspect she was losing interest in the things I still enjoy. I wasn't exactly a good friend to her either, although I didn't realize it until it was too late. I have no idea where she is now.

Or are we just older & no longer exposed to it..........?
At our age when most are married, those who are virgins are 20 years behind (even behind those who waited till marriage) so it's an old joke that's not funny anymore.

Incel I see frequently as an insult when I browse social media so there must still be a stigma to those who don't want to be but can't.

But no one in Christ is an incel.

There's a bit more to incel than that. It's a term given to an online subculture which frequently expresses very negative views about women.

That doesn't mean that the label isn't at times misapplied, but it's usually not used simply as an insult but rather as a criticism of things a person may have said.

If I knew at eighteen what I know NOW (the faith, wisdom etc) then I'd have "stuck to the plan" - as I firmly believe, I'm following a plan now. One that was always set for me from before birth. My "wild" years were between 2008 and 2012 - long before I'd found a faith. And to tell you the truth, I barely remember any of it (which shows you how unimportant of an era it really was.)

I think you know my thoughts on the incel thing. It's a choice just like anything else. If you see yourself as something, then you'll inevitably become it - which is a mantra that applies to anything. Yes, you can even be a billionaire if you want to - or a homeless person in rags. It's that simple, you literally "think" it into reality.

Are you following "the plan" though? Debatable.

Welcome to "The Plan"...!

I had a journey to before my birth when I hit 33. It was out of space and time. I died or almost died and discovered that my present life is a resurrection, biblically speaking. It was like I passed the second death or many deaths. My concept of life and death changed. That changes everything. Yes, I'm following "the plan" to the best I can.

Revelation 20:6. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

Love your avatar by the way. Is she from one of those Pixar movies, perhaps?
Thank you. It's from the Disney movie Moana. I loved the movie and her character. They say version 2 will release this year. :)

Oh, I remember that, now. I'm surprised I haven't seen it myself yet; it seems like it'd be my kind of movie, with cute heroines and all. ^_^

That's what I liked about her character. She is cute and brave. She saves her people like a knight.

Always was drawn to such heroines in fiction, I must say. ^-^
