Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving

Psalm 100
1 Shout joyfully to Adonai, all the earth!
2 Serve Adonai with gladness.
Come before His presence with joyful singing.
3 Know that Adonai, He is God.
It is He who has made us, and we are His.
We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise!
Praise Him, bless His Name.
5 For Adonai is good.
His lovingkindness endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations.

Warning, self disclosure and whacky personal testimony. Read at your own peril.

When driven to despair… I meditate.

I focus on my breathing and think of how this world is not happening to me, but instead, that I am blessed with the opportunity to draw up a positive perception and attitude of thankful response.

It is there that I begin to Thank Jesus for all things, difficult and challenging. I thank Him for the life He gives… and the ability to Love. Then… The hard part… I pray for whoever or whatever is pressing in on me.

Once, I was in a very structured environment where it was very hard for a woman to succeed. Our highest authority was a woman who had seized her place through diligent strength. She was angry one day… and took quite a bit of anger out on me. Unexpectedly to me, I looked her confidently in the eyes and said, “I’m so very sorry that you are having a terrible day”. She made Atilla the Hun seem like a care bear… but there I was. She teared up, thanked me for caring… and turned away. As she left, I knew that she was a very lonely woman. I prayed for her that God would bless her with the companionship of a wonderful man. 1 year later, I attended her retirement and was introduced to a wonderful man that she had met 9 or so months before her retirement.

I know this was a Jesus thing! It kind of floored me.

Biblical words are so much more powerful than we can ever begin to comprehend.

Praise and Thanksgiving all the way home… even when it seems impossible … praise and thanksgiving all the way through the gates. Praise and thanksgiving before Him.

Then… so much to Praise and give Thanksgiving about for eternity!
