If this thread doesn't belong here please let me know and I'll move it. Let's praise the Lord in scripture, psalms, poems, testimony and praise. We can pray for each other. We can share burdens.

Remember that we are sorrowful yet rejoicing (2 Corinthians 6:10)

We weep with those weep and we rejoice with those who rejoice. (Romans 12:15)

I praise thr lord that I am alive and i have hope. My soul laments but I rejoice in being new. I died and my life is hidden. (Colossians chapter 3)

What do you guys think? Are David's death pains the same as the apostles birth pains that we see in Romans chapter 8?

Romans 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.

24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

2 Corinthians 1:9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead,

2 Corinthians 4:0 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

Acts 13:34 God raised him from the dead so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said,

“‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’

Psalms 116:1 I love the Lord, because He has heard
My voice and my supplications.
2 Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
3 The [a]pains of death surrounded me,
And the [b]pangs of Sheol [c]laid hold of me;
I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called upon the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I implore You, deliver my soul!”
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
Yes, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserves the simple;
I was brought low, and He saved me.
7 Return to your rest, O my soul,
For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
8 For You have delivered my soul from death,
My eyes from tears,
And my feet from falling.
9 I will walk before the Lord
In the land of the living.
10 I believed, therefore I spoke,
“I am greatly afflicted.”
11 I said in my haste,
“All men are liars.”
12 What shall I render to the Lord
For all His benefits toward me?
13 I will take up the cup of salvation,
And call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord
Now in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His saints

Out of curiosity, which Psalter does your church use? Personally, I prefer the Book of Psalms for Singing published by the Reformed Presbyterian Church in North America.
I primarily use the NKJV and the book of psalms that is in the usual Bible with 66 books. I like a band called the sons of Kora. I feel connected with the psalms. David taught me to wait on God. The sure mercies of David.

Do you have all 150 Psalms in singable form?

No. I could write them myself like the band sons of korah does. I sing in my heart or mind but not with sound. It would be nice to have the Psalms sung in video format with the words on the screen.

What's your favorite psalms? I like psalms 1, 23, 116, 119, 115, 37 and 42. Just to name a few.
I like 90, 91, 103, and 139. 119 is really amazing the way it is written in Hebrew as an acrostic. There are many other acrostic Psalms. If I knew Hebrew, which I don't, I would be able to memorize them so much more easily. That is one reason I enjoy singing them, because they are easier to memorize, as you commented earlier. 14 and 53 are curious, being the only two which are virtually identical to each other. Of course 51 is really poignant. All the psalms of ascent, especially 121, are great. 22 is really wonderful, especially its prophetic ending.

That sounds wonderful. Psalms 130 is a favorite too.

To he honest you know the psalms better than me I'm sure. I seem to cling to a handful that i know. I need to read more. Share any psalms if you like. I don't mind reading them.

That is one reason I really appreciate singing them with other Christians in church. In any event, I am probably a lot older than you (I am 72) so I have had more experience. One thing that helped me was a simple reading plan. There are 150 psalms. If you read five per day you can read through all of them in a month, if you study one a day you will finish them in five months. I hope this helps you.
