The Fall of America: All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing

Of course if "good people" do nothing in the face of egregious evil

Are they really "good," ?

What if no one had ever stood with the Blacks against slavery? What if no one had ever bothered to pen the words

All men are created equal?

I am glad people in our history got involved.

It is wrong to say that Christians should not get involved in public life. Not getting involved has led us to this hideous moral decay we have

And that is exactly why I am involved in politics, to promote Jesus' message of social justice as Jim Wallis and Pope Francis do so eloquently
Francis does not teach the Gospel (except sporadically? Half the time, it' about Jesus, half the time it's about global warming?)

Jesus never condoned perversity (same sex marriage, being gay or promoting it)

Priorities, priorities. Wars, famines, natural disasters. Pope Francis leads a worldwide church. Do you really think the majority of humans who live on a bowl of rice a day are worried about gay marriage?
Pope Francis preaches the whole gospel, but if millions are starving, homeless, and attacked in Gaza, he's not going to spend 90% of his energy opposing gay marriage in the US.

Didn't Jesus catch flak from the Pharisees for healing people on the Sabbath? So it's not surprising that Francis is catching it, too. I knew, when he picked "Francis", this was going to be a Jesus-centered pope.

Which is probably why Jesus spent so much of his ministry condemning it.

Oh, wait...

I get the feeling you don't know the Gospel

Therefore you can't see that Francis is not preaching it

I guess you think Jesus surrounded himself with gay men?

Nevermind answering. You will likely say he was

I'd laugh

but it is hardly funny

People are being led to Hell

Oh, that's right. You likely don't belive in Hell. Well, you appear to at least want to come across as believing in Jesus and Jesus said that FEW make it to Heaven.

Mt 7... Lk 13:24 and other psgs

He's dead serious. And he's shaking up some Pharisees in the process.
People are being led to Hell
Which is why we need Francis. We really needed a pastor at this time, and that's exactly what he is.
Oh, that's right. You likely don't belive in Hell.
If you spend your time imagining things for other people to believe, isn't that kind of a revelation in itself? You appear to at least want to come across as believing in Jesus, but you don't seem to like what He taught us.
Well, and Jesus said that FEW make it to Heaven.
I do hope you and I get there. It will be interesting to see your face when you realize all the other people there with you.

I guess you're back to inventing things you want other people to believe. It's not a very Godly habit, you know.

Nevermind answering. You will likely say he was
Yep. Back to your usual stuff. Do you not see what a self-destructive habit that is?

heard it all b4
Or at least you made it all up before. Try to do better.

Francis is not Catholic

That is objective truth
The College of Cardinals think he is. But perhaps you're infallible?

We'll have to change everything, now...
Is a fish Catholic?
Does the Pope swim?

America falling is not the end of the world. It's malign influence over cultures ending might be a breath of fresh air to Western society.

American Christians need to move beyond this instinctive effort to preserve the Republic on its own terms.

Well he's too busy undermine Catholic teaching in his own Church. Francis wants to steer the Catholic Church in the direction of the Episcopalian Church and in that process he will kill it.

Mind you Francis is right on some issues like transgenderism and people not having enough children.

Political and religious contention and division is wrong. That's the evil that we fail to speak about
You.can only offer bland neutrality between any conflict. Part of the problem with your view hope is that you presume contention and division can be avoided but it can't. We can try within reason but you can't avoid these things completely. If you for instance dissagree with me are you not guilty of contributing to division and contention? Please, mature in your understanding.

That was the goal all along, to kill the Catholic Church. Good luck with that one, I say to all the Catholic haters, the FMs (Bugnini et al).

Jesus said that his Church will prevail over the gates of Hell (which some theologians say is Heresy)

There is much heresy emanating from the Vatican these days, in case people haven't noticed.

or you could say this

Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom, but only he (she) who does the will of the Father"

Is it God's will for us to sit on our hands while babies are murdered? While one race of people is discriminated against egregiously?

I tend to think not

There are the two great commandments. And the second one is the one conservative preachers ignore, preferring to target sexual sins.

Jesus in the Gospels is all about social justice and mercy. That's why many conservative preachers bypass the Gospel to cherry pick st. Paul.

I avoid it. It's not impossible.
